Hot Market of the Week?? Mexico is a significant source of North American produce, contributing over a third of the continent's total volume in the first half of each year. Over 90% of Mexico's fresh fruit and vegetable exports are destined for the United States, with tomatoes, watermelons, avocados, peppers, and cucumbers being the top five exported items, accounting for 46% of year-to-date volumes. More than half of these imports enter the U.S. through Texas, primarily via the Pharr commercial zone in the McAllen freight market, which handles nearly 75% of the total imported truckload produce volume. Outbound reefer spot rates are trending almost 3% higher than last year, and truckload volumes have increased by 9%. Specifically, on the high-volume McAllen to Dallas/Ft. Worth reefer lane, spot rates are 6% higher than last year, driven by a 13% increase in volume in recent weeks. Delivered the load to its final destination ?? Spent the last hour driving back, reflecting on the past few days ?? Made it back home to Tyler’s family ?? Robert headed back home to the office (Welcome back, Robert!!!) A huge thanks to Tyler for welcoming Robert (and all of us!) into his world, his cab, and his routine. From delivery to new load in under an hour? That’s a flatbed win.?? After dropping off their first load in Albuquerque this morning, Tyler was doing a final walk-around when Robert spotted something on the load board. A nearby job, delivering just 30 miles from home. Here’s how Day 3 unfolded: ? Delivered the backhoe early in the morning ?? Found a new load while still at the receiver ?? Showed up to the pickup…and found out the equipment wasn’t there ?? Got rerouted 12 miles to a second location ?? Equipment was leaking hydraulic fluid, but still had to get it loaded ?? 13 people and 2 hours later, finally got showers in Vegas, TX ?? Shut down for the night clean, loaded, and ready to roll tomorrow #Trucking #FlatbedTrucking #DATRideAlong #OwnerOperator
